About the PNW Stability Project

Who We Are

The PNW Stability Project started as a class collaboration at Portland State University. Our group of students and community members came together to explore how micro-income can help create stability across the Pacific Northwest. As we worked in psychology, communication, UX design, and community development, we realized that stability is not just an individual challenge. It is something the whole community must work on together.

Our project is based on a simple but strong idea. Flexible micro-income, combined with trusted community support, can lower daily stress, build stronger connections, and help people work toward long-term stability. Traditional aid often focuses only on emergencies, which means many people miss out on steady support. Our approach tries to fill that gap with care, consistency, and respect.

Our brand stands for these values:

·         Compassion

·         Practical, evidence-informed solutions

·         Accessibility for all

·         Community-driven support

·         Student-led innovation

We believe everyone should feel seen, supported, and able to shape their own path. This project is our way of working toward a more caring, connected, and hopeful Portland, and a future where everyone can access stability and dignity.

Our Mission

We’re reimagining support in Portland with a micro-income model that empowers people, strengthens communities, and makes dignity universal.

Our Vision

Our vision is a Portland where everyone feels they belong and has the chance to grow. By supporting micro-income and community efforts, we want to help open doors to stability, dignity, and opportunity for everyone.
